How Does an Ionic Foot Detox Work?
An ionic foot bath uses a combination of water, salt, and a mild electrical current to generate charged ions. These ions are thought to encourage the body’s natural detoxification processes. During a typical 30-minute session, the water may change color, this is due to the oxidation of the metal plates and the interaction between the ions and substances in the water, including those released by the body. After the session, detoxification continues for up to 48 hours as the body flushes out toxins through the lymphatic and excretory systems.
